A day in the life

Prologis Energy is seeking a high-performing Associate to join the Energy Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This role will play a critical part in maintaining and enhancing the Global Energy Financial Model, driving forecasting accuracy, and delivering actionable financial insights to senior leadership.

This individual will demonstrate willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes. This presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our dynamic organization in the renewable energy industry.

Key responsibilities include:

Energy Financial Modeling, Forecasting & Process Improvement

  • Support financial planning for renewable energy and distributed energy projects, including solar, storage, EV charging, and related energy infrastructure initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance the Global Energy Financial Model, incorporating updated assumptions, scenario analysis, and long-range projections as business needs evolve.
  • Own the monthly rolling forecast and annual budgeting process in partnership with Development, Execution, Asset Management, and Accounting teams.
  • Perform variance analysis and track key assumptions to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline planning and reporting processes through improved modeling and systems utilization.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and assumptions and reflect them accurately in forecasts.

Performance Analysis & Executive Reporting

  • Design comprehensive reporting packages and conduct monthly reviews with business partners to facilitate variance analysis and updates to monthly rolling forecast.
  • Support project-level financial analysis, including cash flow modeling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly business plan updates and earnings support materials.
  • Develop executive-ready presentations and reporting materials, highlighting key insights to stakeholders.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • Prior experience in the energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, power, or related sector.
  • 2+ years of experience in FP&A, investment analysis, public accounting, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and key business drivers impact on the financials, providing a strong foundation for financial data interpretation and analysis.
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including experience building and maintaining complex Excel-based models.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated track record of taking initiative and driving process improvements.
  • High attention to detail and ownership mindset, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with Planful software or Sigma is not required, but the willingness to learn and use these tools and others is essential.

Hiring Salary Range of: $102,000 - $140,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate's location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
