Unit Details

The Emergency Department is a 50-bed unit dedicated to initial evaluation and care of patients presenting with illness or injury. The Emergency Department is staffed with board certified emergency physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, transporters, techs and registered nurses. The Emergency Department sees on average 170 patients per day with varying acuities and a wide variety of illnesses and injuries from pediatric to geriatric.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide quality patient care consistent with the standards and guidelines established by AnMed Health Emergency Department
  • Work with the Emergency Department staff, providing age specific, quality care to all patients
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care participating with a multidisciplinary health care team to resolve identified patients’ problems and or needs
  • Perform under the guidance and supervision of the Emergency Department charge nurse(s)
  • Deliver treatment as ordered by the physician(s) / provider(s) helping to promote quality and safe care of the patients within the department.

Qualifications: 

AnMed will accept applications from Graduate Nurses that meet SC LLR criteria.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
  • 0-1 year experience for entry level staff nurse positions
  • BSN preferred, ADN candidates must be enrolled in BSN program within 18 months of hire date. BSN required within 4 years from date of hire.
  • BLS preferred, Successful completion of hospital provided BLS course within 90 days from date of hire.
  • Continues to learn and grow professionally through accepting assignments with differing patient load and complexity, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organization.

**AnMed Associate Degree Nurses (ADN) who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and continue to work as an acute care Staff Nurse since that date, were “grandfathered” and the requirement to obtain BSN within four (4) years does not apply**
