Position Description
The Field Recruiter is responsible for developing and executing strategies to attract, engage, and hire skilled and entry-level field employees for commercial roofing and waterproofing operations. This role focuses on recruiting Roofing Technicians, Waterproofing Technicians, Lead Technicians, Foremen, and other field personnel to support current and future project staffing needs. This individual will also support office recruitment when needed.
The ideal candidate is highly relationship-driven, comfortable working in field and construction environments, and passionate about building talent pipelines through community outreach, hiring events, trade schools, high schools, colleges, and industry networking. This position works closely with Superintendents, Operations Managers, and Project Leadership to anticipate manpower demands and ensure projects are staffed with qualified personnel.
    1. Identify and utilize sources that will allow for recruitment of personnel both internal (employee referrals) and external to fill roles within the company.
    2. Source, screen, and hire field employees for commercial roofing and waterproofing operations.
    3. Develop and maintain active candidate pipelines for Roofing, Waterproofing, and Sheet metal, installers, tradesmen, and supervisors.
    4. Conduct phone interviews, in-person interviews, and candidate assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
    5. Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from sourcing through onboarding.
    6. Maintain recruiting metrics, hiring reports, and candidate tracking activities.
    7. Partner closely with Superintendents and Operations Leadership to understand current and future manpower requirements.
    8. Build proactive recruiting strategies to address anticipated staffing shortages and project growth.
    9. Continuously evaluate workforce trends and labor market availability.
    10. Represent the company at hiring events, job fairs, trade association events, workforce development programs, and community outreach initiatives.
    11. Attend high school career fairs to promote careers in commercial construction, roofing, and waterproofing.
    12. Establish relationships with technical schools, apprenticeship programs, workforce development agencies, and college career centers.
    13. Develop and maintain partnerships that create sustainable talent pipelines.
    14. Promote opportunities for career growth and advancement within the organization.
    15. Serve as a brand ambassador for the company within the construction and skilled trades communities.
    16. Develop recruiting campaigns that highlight career opportunities, benefits, training programs, and advancement paths.
    17. Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
    18. Support employee referral initiatives and recruitment marketing efforts.
    19. Coordinate with Human Resources and Operations teams to facilitate successful onboarding of new hires.
    20. Assist with new-hire orientation and integration into field teams.
    21. Gather feedback from field leadership and employees to improve recruiting effectiveness and retention.
    22. Support initiatives focused on workforce development and employee engagement.

Position Requirements
Position Skills and Requirements:
    1. Experience recruiting for hourly and skilled-trades positions.
    2. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    3. Ability to work effectively with field leadership and operations teams.
    4. Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), Microsoft Office, and recruiting platforms.
    5. Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
    6. Experience recruiting for commercial roofing, waterproofing, construction, or related trades.
    7. Familiarity with workforce development programs, apprenticeship programs, and skilled labor recruiting.
    8. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Education and Other Required Qualifications
    1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
    2. Minimum 2 years of recruiting experience, preferably in construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, logistics, or field service environments.
    3. Ability and willingness to travel to other Chamberlin markets to support recruiting needs.
