Entry Level Field Organizer information

What is an entry level field organizer?

Entry level field organizers are individuals who help manage and execute grassroots campaigns, often for political, nonprofit, or advocacy organizations. Their main duties include recruiting and training volunteers, canvassing neighborhoods, organizing events, and communicating with the public to promote their organization's goals. They play a crucial role in mobilizing support, gathering data, and ensuring campaign operations run smoothly at the local level. This position is often a starting point for those interested in a career in political organizing or community activism.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level field organizer?

To thrive as an Entry Level Field Organizer, you need strong communication, organizational skills, and a basic understanding of grassroots outreach, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant volunteer experience. Familiarity with voter databases (like VAN), canvassing apps, and digital communication platforms is typically required. Outstanding interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to motivate volunteers make someone stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for effectively mobilizing supporters, executing outreach strategies, and achieving campaign goals.

What are some common challenges faced by entry level field organizers, and how can they be effectively managed?

Entry Level Field Organizers often encounter challenges such as engaging diverse communities, managing time across multiple projects, and adapting to fast-paced campaign changes. Success in this role involves strong communication skills, flexibility, and resilience under pressure. Building trust with volunteers and community members, staying organized with digital tools, and seeking guidance from more experienced team members can help manage these challenges and contribute to both personal growth and campaign success.

Job description

ABOUT MALLARD SYSTEMS

Mallard Systems has been the trusted exterior cleaning partner for Florida's premier multifamily communities, resort hotels, and commercial properties since 1992. Our crews work on some of the most recognizable properties in the state — from high-rise luxury towers to sprawling tile-roof communities — delivering the kind of results that protect asset value and impress residents, guests, and owners alike.

We're a team of professionals who take pride in showing up sharp, working safely, and doing the job right. If you're looking for steady work, room to grow, and a company that invests in its people, this is the place.

THE ROLE

As an entry-level Field Service Technician, you'll work as a ground-support crew member alongside our window washing technicians, rappelling crews, and soft wash and pressure washing lead technicians. You are the backbone of every job site — setting up equipment, managing hose runs, staging materials, and keeping everything running smoothly so the lead tech can focus on the work at hand.

You'll work at apartment communities, resort hotels, and office buildings, which means you'll regularly be in contact with residents, guests, and tenants. A professional appearance and a friendly, courteous attitude are just as important as your technical skills.

No experience required — we will train you. What we can't train is a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the drive to show up ready every single day. If you have those, we'll teach you everything else.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Assist lead technicians on window washing, rappelling, soft wash, and pressure washing job sites
  • Set up, position, and safely secure ladders in compliance with safety standards
  • Run, connect, and manage pressure washer hoses and water supply lines
  • Operate pressure washers and soft wash equipment under lead tech supervision
  • Stage and organize equipment, chemicals, and supplies at job sites before and after work
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and protect surrounding property from overspray or damage
  • Interact professionally and courteously with apartment residents, hotel guests, and office tenants
  • Communicate clearly with lead technicians and field supervisors throughout the day
  • Load and unload equipment from company vehicles; maintain equipment in clean working condition
  • Follow all company safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and site-specific rules at all times
  • Report any equipment issues, job site hazards, or customer concerns to the lead tech immediately
  • Drive to and from the Mallard warehouse daily in your own vehicle; report on time, ready to work

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
  • Reliable personal transportation to commute to our warehouse daily — no carpool dependency
  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida heat and weather conditions for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working at heights on ladders and elevated platforms
  • Professional, respectful demeanor when interacting with clients and their residents or guests
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-first attitude
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and safely
  • Must be able to pass a background check

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)

  • Prior experience in exterior cleaning, construction, landscaping, or any outdoor labor field
  • Familiarity with pressure washing equipment or chemical soft wash systems
  • OSHA 10 certification or any safety training
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) — helpful in the field but not required

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

This is a full-time position. Our crews typically work Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work during peak season. Shifts start at the warehouse — you must be on time and ready each day.

  • Competitive hourly pay — commensurate with experience
  • Overtime available during busy season
  • Growth path: high performers are trained and promoted to Lead Technician roles
  • Paid training on all equipment, safety procedures, and service techniques

ROOM TO GROW

We promote from within. Many of our lead technicians — including some of our rappelling and window washing specialists — started exactly where this role begins. Field Service Technicians who demonstrate reliability, safety awareness, and a strong work ethic are first in line for advancement to:

  • Soft Wash / Pressure Wash Lead Technician
  • Window Washing Technician
  • Rappelling Technician (certified training provided)
  • Field Supervisor

HOW TO APPLY

Submit your application online or reach out directly to our operations team. We review applications on a rolling basis and typically schedule interviews within a few business days.
