Imperial Surveillance is looking to add an experienced Security System Technicians to install systems in the Chicagoland area. The Security System Technician position entails going onsite to install CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, Alarms, and other low voltage systems. You will be working independently and in Teams in the field. As an Install Technician, you will be working in many different environments and be required to use power tools, lifts, ladders, and other equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Security System Technician Responsibilities:



  • On-site installation and programming of CCTV, access control, intercoms, alarms, and other low voltage equipment.

  • Instillation of cable management infrastructure including J Hooks, Bridal Rings, Conduit, Raceways, Cable Trays, Ladder Racks, etc.

  • Complete installation of security systems including running wires, labeling, connections/terminations, and mounting of equipment in a satisfactory manner for both customer and contractual requirements.

  • On-site training with customers to ensure complete understanding of systems installed.

  • Building and maintaining professional customer relationships.


Required Qualifications/Skills:



  • CCTV installation or service: 2 years (Required).

  • Access Control installation or service: 2 years (Required).

  • Burglar and or fire alarm installation or service: 2 years (Required).

  • Cabling and infrastructure: 2 years (Required).

  • Lifting and carrying heavy materials, up to 50 pounds.

  • A driver’s license is required.

  • Use ladders safely and climb up to 24 ft.

  • Experience with door hardware including electrified strikes and magnetic locks.

  • Intercom installation and programming.

  • Understanding of networks including LAN and WAN.

  • Understanding of low voltage electrical circuits and relay logic.

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

  • Professionalism and the ability to maintain customer relationships.

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving experience.

  • Ability to perform all tasks in a professional and safe manner.

  • Electrical experience is a plus.

  • Fiber optics experience is a plus.
