How You Will Contribute:

Duties: Review System requirements and functional specifications and develop comprehensive solution test plans to validate customer use-cases and detailed feature test plans to validate product capabilities. Plan and build test environments for feature and solution level test execution while considering potential and likely interactions across different features of the product. Execute test cases, analyze test results, file defect reports and retest defect resolution. Work and interact closely with engineers from embedded software, network management software, and hardware teams to ensure thorough testing of customer focused end-to-end solutions, compliance to specifications and resolution of issues found during test phase. Host test plan reviews for assigned features, as well as to contribute to test plan reviews held by other team members. Build in-depth knowledge of product architecture and develop ability to root-cause issues. Contribute towards automation of test cases and execute already automated test cases.

Employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Networking and Systems Administration, or related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in a Computer Systems Engineers/Architects-related occupation.


Position requires 24 months of experience in the following:
System testing in the telecommunications and networking domain;
Layer-2/Layer-3 networking protocols, including IPV4, IPV6, VLANS, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, ICMP, ARP, NTP, NAT and L3VPN;
Networking devices and tools such as routers, switches, servers, and traffic generators such as Ixia or Spirent;
Fiber optics and data center networking products;
OLT and ONU devices, including performing end-to-end system and solution testing for Passive Optical Networks
Planning, building, and maintaining testbed infrastructure to ensure effective testing;
Performing both manual and automated testing, troubleshooting data communication systems, network configurations, and simulated topologies;
Developing test plans and procedures for feature test, acceptance tests, solution test, and regression tests based on functional specifications, system requirements, and customer use cases;
Triaging test failures, performing failure analysis to validate software releases for networking devices;
Filing defects and working with development team to get bug fixes; and validating the bug fixes through re-testing;
Collecting key metrics, such as test pass rates and priorities, and generating software quality reports;
Developing test automation for network devices, with experience in working with test automation frameworks to create test libraries and scripts using python;
Git or similar version control systems; and
Replicating customer-reported issues in a lab environment..
