Diesel Mechanic – Industrial Equipment

Starting Pay: Up to $30 per Hour, Depending on Experience

Are you mechanically inclined and interested in building a long-term career working on diesel-powered equipment and hydraulic systems?

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair industrial pumping equipment. Candidates with previous diesel, heavy-equipment, agricultural-equipment, or hydraulic repair experience are encouraged to apply. We are also willing to train recent graduates of diesel, automotive, heavy-equipment, or industrial maintenance programs who have a strong mechanical foundation and are ready to continue developing their skills.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain specialized experience working with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, industrial pumps, and related equipment.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on diesel-powered machinery and industrial pumping equipment
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines and related mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, fittings, cylinders, valves, and controls
  • Identify worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components and recommend appropriate repairs
  • Complete oil changes, filter changes, fluid checks, lubrication, and other scheduled maintenance
  • Remove, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components
  • Test equipment after repairs to verify proper and safe operation
  • Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
  • Maintain accurate service, inspection, and repair documentation
  • Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized
  • Follow company safety procedures and equipment-maintenance standards
  • Assist experienced technicians with more advanced repairs and equipment rebuilds as needed

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications

  • Previous experience with diesel engines, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, hydraulics, industrial machinery, or mechanical maintenance is preferred
  • Recent graduates of diesel technology, automotive technology, heavy-equipment technology, or industrial maintenance programs are encouraged to apply
  • Basic understanding of diesel engine operation and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems is helpful, but additional training may be provided
