Job description

GTS Transportation is looking for a dynamic and energetic entry-level Driver Recruiter to join our team and drive our talent acquisition efforts forward. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their recruiting career who is eager to learn the transportation industry from the ground up. In this role, you'll source, engage, and onboard qualified CDL drivers to meet our operational needs. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help build a strong driver workforce and keep our logistics operations running smoothly. We'll provide the training and support you need to grow into a full-cycle recruiting role — this is a hands-on, fast-paced position with real impact on our transportation network.

Location: 7545 S Madison St, Burr Ridge, IL 60527

Job Type: Full-time, W2, In-Office

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CDT

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting strategies to attract qualified CDL drivers through social media, driver-focused job boards, industry associations, and cold calling.
  • Assist with the full-cycle recruiting process: sourcing and screening candidates, verifying CDL licensure and driving history, scheduling and supporting interviews, and coordinating onboarding.
  • Learn and run required pre-employment screening in compliance with FMCSA regulations, including Clearinghouse queries, PSP (Pre-Employment Screening Program) reports, MVR checks, and DOT physical/drug testing coordination (full training provided).
  • Help build and maintain a steady pipeline of driver candidates through ongoing outreach, referrals, and relationship-building with industry contacts.
  • Learn federal and state regulations affecting driver hiring, including FMCSA hours-of-service and qualification requirements, and help ensure hiring practices remain compliant.
  • Collaborate with HR on new hire orientation, contracts, and onboarding logistics for incoming drivers.
  • Support recruitment campaigns across social platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Indeed, and CDL-specific job boards) and track candidates through our HRIS/ATS platform.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree required.
  • No prior recruiting experience necessary; however, candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, sales, or transportation/logistics, or prior exposure to recruiting.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Russian, Ukrainian, or another Eastern European/Slavic language is a plus, as a significant portion of our driver workforce communicates in these languages.
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills for engaging a diverse pool of driver candidates.
  • Willingness to learn FMCSA regulations and employment law as it relates to driver hiring (Clearinghouse, PSP, MVR, DOT physical requirements) — training provided.
  • Comfort with phone-based outreach (cold calling) and a proactive, self-starter attitude.
  • Comfort using computers, an ATS/HRIS platform, and social media tools; willingness to learn new systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

What We Offer

  • Full-time, W-2 position with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
  • 401(k) matching and paid time off (PTO).
  • Company-paid corporate holidays.
  • Company-provided life insurance policy.
  • Wellness Perk: Company-paid Life Time Fitness discount/credit.
  • Structured career pathing and hands-on training in a stable, growing logistics company.
  • A collaborative, fast-paced team environment.

Compensation
Base salary of $39,000–$65,000 annually. Final pay is based on experience, qualifications, and skills.
