Location: Chandler / Mesa, AZ (in-person)

The Content Creator is responsible for producing engaging, on-brand content that supports brand awareness, community growth, and marketing initiatives across digital channels. This role focuses on capturing and creating authentic, human-centered content for social media, email, and marketing campaigns. The Content Creator works closely with brand strategy and design teams to identify storytelling opportunities, bring brand moments to life, and consistently engage audiences through compelling visuals, video, and voiceover content. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, comfortable on camera, and passionate about building community around growing brands.

Key Responsibilities:

Create & Capture Content

  • Film and edit short-form video quickly and confidently   
  • Record voiceovers and appear on camera when needed 
  • Turn ideas into content on the spot  
  • Capture behind-the-scenes, educational, product, and community content  
  • Produce basic to intermediate product photography  
  • Execute On-Brand Content  

Create on-brand content for:

  • Social media (Reels, carousels, stories, static posts)  
  • Email marketing (visuals + light copy support)  
  • Marketing campaigns, launches, and promotions 
  • Ideation, Collaboration & Momentum  
  • Consistently generate content ideas with little direction  
  • Spot trends, moments, and storytelling opportunities that fit the brand  
  • Bring ideas to the table and collaborate to refine them  
  • Create content that feels human, helpful, and community-driven  
  • Engage authentically with followers, customers, and the maker community  

Organization & Support

  • Edit content using tools like Adobe, Canva, or similar platforms  
  • Support content calendars with visuals, caption drafts, and ideas  
  • Organize content for easy reuse across platforms  
  • Assist with basic performance tracking (what's working, what's not)  
  • Participate in content days, shoots, events, classes, and launches  
  • Help document in-store activity and workshops  
  • Keep content organized in shared folders and systems 
  • Respond to customer messages on social platforms using brand tone 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube   
  • Experienced in capturing and editing short-form video  
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines and creative direction  
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, hands-on environment   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic photography or lighting knowledge  
  • Familiar with email marketing tools and Shopify e-commerce environments  
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability 
  • Passion for supporting makers, small businesses, and creative communities 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Periods of standing/walking 
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds 
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location 
  • Must not be sensitive to fragrances and scents 
  • Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel or crouch.  
  • Willingness to adhere to strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in a soap manufacturing environment.   

Work Environment

This role is primarily office-based within a manufacturing facility, with regular time spent on the floor capturing behind-the-scenes and day-to-day content. You'll also work on-site at the Maker's Haven retail location, creating content that highlights our products, classes, makers, and in-store community. 

Occasional local travel is required, including visits to farmers' markets, pop-ups, events, and community activities to capture content. At times, the role may also involve traveling with the owner on work-related trips to film and document content for social media, product launches, and key brand moments. 

This is a hands-on, immersive role well suited for someone who enjoys being close to the action, identifying content opportunities in real time, and translating authentic experiences into compelling storytelling. 

In The Soap Gal facility we use raw materials such as powders and fragrances that may become airborne in the production process. Additional personal protective equipment available upon request.
