About the role

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for creating, editing, and managing engaging short-form video content that drives brand awareness and foot traffic for assigned property or properties. Key responsibilities include filming and editing TikTok and Instagram Reels, maintaining consistent posting schedules, monitoring social media trends, coordinating with the on-site marketing team and retail tenants to amplify center experiences, and delivering monthly newsletter analytics. The ideal candidate brings demonstrated content creation skills with strong engagement metrics, proficiency in video editing software, deep understanding of social media platforms and audience trends, and the ability to represent the brand authentically while connecting with Gen Z audiences. This is a 6-month initial term with the potential to extend based on business needs.

This role supports both Annapolis Mall (1 day a week) and Tysons Corner Center (2-3 days a week), but time allocation determined by each location's needs. You will be compensated during travel times.

What You Will Do:Content Capture
  • Film and photograph new store openings, retailer activations, community events hosted by the onsite Marketing Manager.
  • Publish content in real time during events, grand openings, and retailer activations.
  • Capture content that boosts tenant visibility and helps drive sales traffic into their spaces
  • Comfortable filming on location and appearing on camera as needed, representing the property's official social channels.
Content Creation and Editing
  • Edit short-form video content (TikToks/IG Reels) using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or similar.
  • Create engaging TikToks, Reels and video content, adding captions and on-brand text overlays aligned with brand guidelines
  • Create Content optimized for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook (Reels, Stories, and feed posts.)
  • Monitor comments and direct messages on assigned channels, primarily TikTok, flagging urgent or high-priority inquiries for the mall team while responding to routine engagement and community questions.
  • Maintain a consistent daily posting cadence: a minimum of 3 Stories and 1 scheduled feed posts across platforms
Social Media and Property Support
  • Monitor Social Media Trends and identify opportunities to connect these conversations to our retailers and experiences in the center in a timely and relevant manner.
  • Work with the Digital Team and onsite Marketing Manager to build out a monthly content calendar for Instagram Reels, TikToks and Facebook.
  • Reach out to tenant corporate teams to coordinate filming inside their spaces, beginning with centers targeted tenant list or digital tenant support list.
  • Create monthly recaps of Social Media Content wins and distribute to applicable stakeholders
What You Bring:
  • Demonstrated content creation ability with an average of 2,000-5,000 views per video over their last 15 posts, and a 4-10% engagement rate (likes, comments, and shares).
  • Must have at least 70% of audience residing in the target state where the position is located. Portfolio should demonstrate understanding of short-form video trends and ability to create engaging, on-brand content.
  • Comfortable being on camera during reels, understanding they represent the center they support and brand they’re supporting.
  • Familiarity with Gen Z, local youth trends, and digital content creation.

Work Environment
  • 24 to 29 hours per week. This is a flexible schedule; however, a minimum of two (2) days per week on-site during weekday hours is required
  • Approximately two (2) weekend days per month and select holidays (including Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve) may be required as business needs demand.

The compensation for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and the specific requirements of the role. Final salary offers will be discussed during the interview process and will reflect the candidate's skills and the company's compensation structure. The range for this role is $25-30/hour.
