Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, product development and manufacturing teams, resolving defects and ensuring products meet both customer and regulatory specifications. This role requires collaboration throughout the production lifecycle to ensure compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement of processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet both customer and regulatory specifications
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify defects and non-conformities
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in design and process reviews to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Provide training and support to production teams on quality standards and procedures

Requirements
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create test procedures and quality plans to ensure product scope, requirements, and product functions are clearly defined, recommending improvements where needed.
  • Ensure products meet organizational, customer, and industry quality standards, including AS9100, AS9102, and other relevant aerospace regulations.
  • Support product development and operations teams by providing analysis and expertise during inspection and quality control stages.
  • Collaborate on root cause and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence of defects or process deviations and ensure timely responses from responsible parties.
  • Generate and Analyze quality data to identify trends, with the goal of reducing defects and improving product reliability.
  • Coordinate and support First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 requirements to ensure products meet both internal and external quality standards.
  • Assist in supplier quality activities including developing inspection plans for purchased products and parts, reviewing supplier first articles and performing on-site audits.
  • Lead quality planning efforts while collaborating with design engineering on new product development, including quality control strategies and ensure timely and compliant project execution.
  • Develop inspection plans for purchased products and parts.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the Quality Management System through procedural and product internal audits, supporting customer and 3rd party audits.
  • Support or lead internal, customer and 3rd party audits.
  • Performs other quality engineering and manufacturing support duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • Experience or training in quality assurance within aerospace, or other regulated industry, preferred. (not required for entry level)

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the organization's production processes and quality management systems (QMS).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments, including developers, project managers, and customer support teams.
  • Proficient in, or the ability to learn, root cause analysis and corrective action methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

DESRIED SKILLS:
  • Experience with root cause - corrective action investigation.
  • Knowledge about First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
  • Familiarity with Material Review Board (MRB) processes.
  • Quality certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), or similar.
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA or NADCAP regulations.
  • Experience with quality inspection tools such as Net-Inspect, InspectionXpert, or similar software preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • A mix of walking the manufacturing environment and prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • This position is fully on-site.

This position involves exposure to projects and contracts subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, only U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents (Green Card holders) are eligible for employment in this role. Applicants must meet these requirements to be considered.
