TherapySouth was founded in July 2006 by Steve Foster, PT, LAT. His vision was that TherapySouth would be a therapist-owned practice, specializing in "hands-on care, close to a patient's home or work". All of our clinics maintain a friendly atmosphere that helps patients feel at home in their surroundings. Having several locations allows patients to conveniently attend physical therapy two to three times per week to improve their daily functions. The Physical Therapy Technician position is an ideal entry level position for candidates interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or exercise science.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist in the administration of physical therapy programs which are directly supervised by the treating physical therapist and/or physical therapy assistant.
  2. Clean and organize work area, change and clean linens, and disinfect equipment after treatment.
  3. Clarify the patient’s next scheduled appointment time.
  4. Prepare hot/cold packs and replace them for therapist as needed.
  5. Administer modalities as directed by physical therapist and/or physical therapy assistant.
  6. Prepare Game Ready with ice at the start of each shift and as needed. Keep ice trays filled and ice container full.
  7. Inform therapist if anything unusual is reported by the patient so they can determine if an adjustment needs to be made to the treatment plan.
  8. Straighten treatment rooms.
  9. Stock all carts, replace covering on anodyne pads as needed, refill ultrasound gel bottles, refill hydro collator water level and organize electrodes.
  10. Maintain and upgrade professional skills according to company needs and professional requirements.
  11. Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as State and Federal professional regulations.
  12. Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company.
