About the Role

As a Structural Engineer (EIT), you will:

  • Work under the guidance of experienced engineers to assist with structural load determination, perform calculations, and design various bridge and waterfront structures, including:
    • Vehicle and pedestrian bridges
    • Gangways and trestles
    • Marine terminals
    • Harbors and marinas
    • Mooring and berthing structures
    • Piers, wharves, bulkheads, and quays
    • Breakwaters and shore protection structures
  • Learn to develop construction drawings using AutoCAD with mentorship from senior staff.
  • Participate in inspections and condition assessments of existing structures, and develop detailed technical reports with the support of your team.
  • Collaborate across disciplines such as site-civil design, surveying, geotechnical engineering, and permitting to broaden your skill set and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

We welcome entry-level candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam or can do so within six months of hire.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA 3D, SAP) and AutoCAD is helpful but not requiredwere ready to teach!
  • A team-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn from experienced engineers.
  • Knowledge of basic structural principles and a desire to deepen your understanding of design codes/standards and materials.
  • Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
  • Motivation to grow professionally and tackle new challenges.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in fieldwork.
  • A valid U.S. drivers license, a good driving record, and vehicle insurance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
