Entry-Level Environmental Engineer (Renewable Fuels amp; Environmental Services)
First Environment, Inc., a leading environmental consulting and engineering firm providing strategic environmental services across the U.S., is seeking a recent college graduate to join our team as an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer. This role offers hands-on experience supporting projects related to renewable fuels, environmental assessments, remedial investigation, climate and sustainability, and environmental litigation support.
The position is designed to provide broad exposure to the firm’s service areas during the first years of employment, helping the successful candidate develop technical skills and identify a long-term career path within the firm.

Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support to a broad range of environmental projects for industry and government projects involving:
    • environmental due diligence, site investigation and remediation, environmental permitting, and planning, expert testimony, greenhouse gas accounting and emissions reduction, renewable fuels, life cycle assessment, climate change, and sustainability.
  • Provide engineering and analytical support including technical research, data review, and preparation of supporting documentation
  • Perform literature reviews, data analysis, and modeling
  • Provide in-field project support to assist with data gathering and analysis.
  • Assist senior engineers with feasibility studies, preliminary design, cost estimating, and project setup
  • Work alongside Professional Engineers to gain experience toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • Participate in industry groups, professional organizations, and continuing education opportunities

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, chemical, civil, or related engineering discipline (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Passed or planning to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Familiarity with engineering fundamentals such as mass balances, process systems, or environmental treatment processes
  • Experience with data analysis tools including Excel, Experience with GIS, modeling software, or programming tools such as Python/R is a plus
  • Strong interest in renewable energy, climate solutions, environmental consulting, and applied engineering
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work collaboratively across teams, and learn new technical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites throughout the country.
