Job description

Our Water Quality Program has a part-time/student intern position available in our Baton Rouge office. This is a great opportunity for science majors looking to gain on-the-job experience. The primary responsibilities will be to assist with the preparation of Discharge Monitoring Reports for approval and certification by our industrial clients; assist in preparing water permit applications and other compliance documents, perform data analysis, maintain, and develop spreadsheets, and basic report preparation. Weekly work schedule flexible to school commitments.

Qualifications and Skill Sets:

• College coursework in one or more of the related fields: Environmental Science, Coastal Science, Toxicology, Chemistry, Life Sciences, or Biology;
• Must successfully complete required safety and on-the-job training;
• Must be able to satisfy all Drug & Alcohol, Health & Safety, and Security requirements;
• Working knowledge of MS Office programs, especially Excel spreadsheets;
• Organized to prioritize tasks and schedules and manage changing deadlines;
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and maintain successful client relationships;
• Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner; and
• Eager to excel as an individual and in a team environment.
