Maintenance Technician - Building Operations, Facilities Services

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and light maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. This is an entry-level position and can provide opportunities for growth in the engineering field.

Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Monday through Friday

What this job involves:

As a Maintenance Technician at JLL, you'll play a vital role in keeping our facilities running smoothly and efficiently. You'll work alongside experienced professionals who support each other's wellbeing and champion your development every step of the way. This position offers hands-on experience across multiple building systems-from HVAC and electrical to plumbing and carpentry-giving you the chance to build a strong technical foundation while we embrace more innovative ways of working and prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your career. You'll respond to maintenance needs, complete work orders, and help ensure our spaces remain safe, functional, and welcoming for everyone who uses them. At JLL, we believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and this role is your launchpad into a rewarding career in facilities maintenance and building operations.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist the engineering team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment

  • Perform general maintenance including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and/or painting

  • Complete assigned work orders and maintain appropriate service documentation

  • Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe conditions

  • Work closely under the direction of Operations Manager, Senior Maintenance Technician and other team members

  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs

  • Support on-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)

  • Contribute to other projects and tasks as assigned

Required qualifications:

  • 3 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry

  • Strong customer service skills

Physical qualifications:

  • Physical capabilities to lift 80 lbs, work at heights, and in confined spaces

  • Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall

  • Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive

Preferred qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of building automation systems

  • Trade school, union training, military service or college education is desirable

  • Experience working in commercial or institutional facilities

  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
