Job description

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full Time Entry-Level Engine Dyno Test Technicians for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. We are seeking mechanically inclined individuals to support engine testing operations in a fast paced automotive environment. This position is ideal for candidates with hands on automotive experience such as oil changes, tire service, basic vehicle maintenance, or automotive shop experience. This Full Time Entry-Level Engine Dyno Test Technician position based out of Livonia, MI., and offers a flexible AM day shift! Candidates meeting the requirements for this Full Time Entry-Level Engine Dyno Test Technicians position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
Shift Schedule:
  • AM day shift: 4:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday – Friday + overtime as needed)
    • ​Shift times are flexible

Responsibilities:
  • Move engines from racks to test cells using appropriate equipment
  • Assist with installing and removing engines from test cells
  • Fill engines with required fluids prior to testing and drain fluids upon completion
  • Return engines to designated racks following testing
  • Assist with engine setup and preparation for testing activities
  • Follow work instructions, test procedures, and safety requirements
  • Support material handling and general shop operations as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks as assigned

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to lift and move engine components and materials
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills and procedures
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience performing oil changes, tire rotations, brake service, or other basic vehicle maintenance
  • Experience as a lube technician, tire technician, mechanic helper, or automotive shop assistant
  • Automotive shop classes, vocational training, or technical coursework
  • Personal vehicle maintenance experience
