COMPENSATION INFORMATION The salary range(s) represents our good faith estimate for the role at this time. Settlement Analyst II Salary range: $70,320 - $87,895
Settlement Analyst I Salary range: $57,200 - $70,060

Are you someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data, and making sure every detail adds up? Join SPP and play a critical role in supporting the financial operations that keep the electric grid running efficiently across the region.
As a Settlements Analyst, you'll help process and validate market and transmission settlements, analyze financial data, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for our market participants. If you're analytical, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to have you on our team.
What You'll Do
  • Support daily market and/or transmission settlement production activities.
  • Validate billing data received from source systems before settlement processing.
  • Execute settlement runs and posting activities according to established settlement calendars.
  • Review and validate daily settlement statements and reports for market participants.
  • Maintain compliance with SOC1 control requirements, including documentation of key control activities.
  • Track, document, and monitor production activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain and update settlement procedures and reference documentation.
  • Research and resolve settlement discrepancies, customer questions, and data issues.
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information and financial analysis.
  • Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the SPP Tariff and market protocols to support settlement obligations.
  • Assist with testing and implementation of new settlement products, processes, and system enhancements.
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve questions and improve settlement processes.
  • Support leadership with reporting, financial analysis, and special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with SPP policies, procedures, and operational standards.

To be successful in the role we're looking for:
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree

Experience Requirements:
  • Settlements Analyst II: Two (2) years job related experience. Candidates with four (4) years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Settlements Analyst I: No experience required. Candidates with two (2) years of relevant job-related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and PPT.
  • Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer focus
  • Knowledge of computer business applications and data base management systems

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of electric utility industry

Position Type, Location, and Expected Hours of Work:
  • This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Little Rock, Arkansas, with a minimum requirement of two days per week in the office. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours as needed.

Travel Requirement:
  • This position requires minimal travel (approximately 0-15%)
