Renesas Electronics is seeking a motivated Product Engineer to join our Austin-based team supporting the development and production of advanced semiconductor power products. This entry-level role (0-2 years of experience) offers the opportunity to work on technologies including power management ICs, smart power stages, and related solutions. You will work with cross-functional teams to support new product introduction (NPI), qualification, and high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support product engineering activities across NPI, qualification, production release, and sustaining
  • Assist with silicon characterization, product evaluation, and data analysis
  • Ownership of BOM release and maintenance
  • Collaborate with design and test engineering teams to improve manufacturability and yield
  • Analyze yield, test, and reliability data to identify trends and support root-cause analysis
  • Support customer qualification and resolve product and field issues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in quality, cost, and cycle time
  • Communicate effectively with management to report critical technical, customer escalations or business issues as they arise, and drive mitigation efforts

Qualifications
  • ENTRY LEVEL - BS with up to 2 years experience or a MS with 0 experience, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Prior internship is a plus
  • Interest in power semiconductor products (power management ICs, analog/mixed-signal, power stages)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and data analysis tools; programming is a plus
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Ramp to independent ownership within 6 months
  • Deliver characterization and analysis on schedule for NPI milestones
  • Support timely resolution of product engineering issues
  • Contribute to measurable improvements in yield, test time, or quality within first 12 months
