Job description

Work Flexibility: Hybrid
The Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing tests for embedded software in a complex medical system to ensure software requirements are met. Additional responsibilities include developing software tools to allow test fixtures to interface with the hardware and software of the medical device, documenting test plans and protocols, and troubleshooting software bugs.
This role is hybrid with the expectation to be in the office 3 days a week in Portage, MI.

What you will do:
  • Develop and design robust software testing/verification procedures per the requirements and architecture defined
  • Partnering with hardware and software design teams to identify test methods and tools
  • Develop test tools to increase test coverage, repeatability and quality
  • Understand software and system requirements to identify the best methods to verify their implementation
  • Creating documentation of test procedures and test forms, as well as supporting documents
  • Drive root cause investigations for failures from software tests

What you need:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
  • 2+ years of work experience
  • 1+ years of software test/verification experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable in programming, specifically C and/or C++
  • Experience with embedded systems
  • Knowledgeable with tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing software
  • Knowledge from using Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools. (Jama, DOORS, Polarion, Jira)
  • Experience in a regulated environment
