Job description

Job Title: Lab Manager – Electronics Lab (Part-Time Contract) Location: Longmont, CO 80501 (On-site) Pay: $45–$50 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 4 hours/day | 20 hours/week Type: W2 Contract (Part-Time) Overview We’re hiring an experienced Lab Manager to own and run an Electronics Lab environment—someone who brings structure, accountability, and hands-on technical excellence . This role is not entry-level . You must have expert soldering skills , specifically BGA rework and BGA reballing , and be comfortable proving those skills in a practical demo.

If you take pride in keeping a lab organized, efficient, and “audit-ready” while also jumping in to perform high-precision rework, this is a strong fit. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) Manage day-to-day electronics lab operations (equipment, inventory, organization, workspace standards) Perform precision soldering and rework , including: BGA rework (removal & replacement) BGA reballing Fine-pitch component soldering/rework Maintain lab equipment, tools, and workstations in optimal condition Establish and enforce lab procedures, organization standards, and best practices Track inventory (components, consumables, equipment) and keep replenishment organized Coordinate with engineering teams to prioritize lab needs and support timelines Document processes, procedures, and work completed Own lab cleanliness, safety, and overall efficiency Required Qualifications (Must-Haves) Proven lab management experience (able to give real examples of previous lab oversight) Expert-level soldering/rework, specifically: BGA removal/replacement BGA reballing techniques Ability to complete a hands-on practical assessment after a virtual screening Strong organization skills + attention to detail (systematic approach) Stable work history with progression in similar roles Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal supervision Strong communication skills (partnering with engineering stakeholders) Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Linux experience (more is better) Experience using rework stations (hot air, IR, etc.) and reballing equipment Lab inventory systems experience IPC certification (IPC-7711/7721 or similar) Screening Process Virtual Interview (job history + lab management + technical depth) Practical Demonstration (BGA rework + reballing skills validation) Apply Now If you’re a hands-on lab leader who can demonstrate high-end rework skills (not just talk about them), apply today.
