Job Title: Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on building complete sensor products from pre-fabricated materials in a clean, calm, and spacious production environment. You will assemble small mechanical and electronic components by following detailed work instructions, using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment. The standard schedule is a day shift, Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with occasional earlier start times at 5:00 am and some Saturday morning hours from 6:00 am to 11:00 am when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full product builds of sensors using pre-fabricated materials and components.
  • Follow written work instructions on an iPad to assemble individual mechanical and electronic components.
  • Complete mechanical assembly of product shells, boxes, and related hardware.
  • Carry out soldering and wire bonding tasks to connect electrical components and wiring.
  • Conduct electronic assembly tasks, including work with PCBs and basic electrical wiring.
  • Use small hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and production activities.
  • Package finished products according to quality and safety standards.
  • Read and interpret work instructions in English to ensure accurate and consistent builds.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members in a line-based production environment.
  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency to meet production flow, output goals, and deadlines.
  • Adhere to all production safety standards and follow established procedures.
  • Perform basic quality inspection on assembled products to confirm they meet specifications.
  • Use a computer to analyze test data and verify product performance where required.
  • Stand for the duration of the shift when assigned to standing workstations, with some areas offering seated work.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by following best practices and providing feedback on processes.

Essential Skills

  • Previous production experience in a manufacturing or line-based environment.
  • Proficiency using hand tools for assembly and basic mechanical tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently within a production flow.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions in English.
  • Comfort standing for an entire shift when required.
  • Ability to use a computer for analyzing test data and following digital work instructions.
  • Capability to adhere to production safety standards and established procedures.
  • Willingness and ability to work 10–15 hours of overtime per week when offered.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with small parts assembly in a production or assembly environment.
  • Prior mechanical assembly experience, including working as a mechanical assembler.
  • Exposure to electronic assembly, including basic electrical wiring and PCB-related work.
  • Soldering experience, including through-hole or surface-mount soldering.
  • Experience reading detailed work instructions and following standardized processes.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection practices for assembled products.
  • Ability to interpret basic blueprints or schematics is a plus.
  • Experience with SMT (surface mount technology) machine operation is preferred.
  • Experience in packaging and final product preparation for shipment.
  • Comfort working in both seated and standing positions depending on station assignment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
