Job Title: Entry-Level HVAC Service Technician Intern

Summary:

This is a 90-day program designed to teach interns the field of commercial HVAC careers. You will be evaluated on a 30/60/90 day basis to assess your knowledge and job performance. After the 90-days the interns who meet performance expectations will be hired as an HVAC Technician Class I.


Install, service, repair heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems. Utilize knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, and pipefitting.

  • This role is based out of the Columbia, SC office and serves the surrounding metro area.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

This posting covers HVAC Service Technician Intern Duties and are based on the candidate’s qualifications below:

Intern Service Technician

  • Changing Filters
  • Cleaning Coils, Basic Maintenance
  • Check and clean drains
  • Hook up gauges to the system
  • Provide excellent customer service

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer and tablets.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong adaptability skills.

 

Required Experience, Certifications, and Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Trade/Technical School certification or degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work and tolerate confined spaces. Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes. Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.
