The Computing Products Department in the Avionics business unit has an opening for a new grad Electrical Engineer. This department is responsible for the development and sustainment of state-of-the-art avionics hardware products including integrated processing cabinets, video processing modules, network product, and control panels used in commercial and military aircraft platforms.

This position is for an entry level Electrical Engineer 1 to develop digital hardware used in high performance computing products such as Processing Computers and Network switch products for Commercial avionics platforms. This role is onsite, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What You Will Do:

As an entry level Electrical Engineer 1atCollins Aerospace, you will.....

  • You will use and apply electrical engineering principles and techniques to design, develop, document, verify, support, and troubleshoot digital hardware for avionics products.
  • You will work closely with Systems, Software, Mechanical, Environmental Effects Engineering, Manufacturing / Operations, and Design-to-Cost (DTC) staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle.
  • You will work on designs that include the use of digital logic (ASIC/FPGA/CPLD), processors, and various memory technologies.
  • You will support current production issues if the need arises.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or relatedScience, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of digital circuit design parameters (e.g., throughput, rise time, clock frequencies, propagation delay). Includes knowledge of computer hardware components (e.g., processors, memory, interfaces), and characteristics (throughput, processing architecture, timing).
  • Schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs for avionics.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout and routing rules.
  • Interfacing with complex embedded devices (processor, graphics, FPGA).
  • Experience with Ethernet, I2C, USB, LVDS, and SERDES bus technologies.
  • Experience with DDR memory interfaces.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
