Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical / Systems Integration Engineer to support advanced heavy-duty defense vehicle platform development and weapons system integration programs. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of mechanical design, system integration, troubleshooting, and test-site support.

The engineer will lead and support the mechanical integration of weapon and mission systems into vehicle platforms, working closely with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to ensure performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.

This opportunity offers exposure to mechanical structures, electrical/video interfaces, CAN communication systems, failure analysis, field troubleshooting, and advanced technologies such as robotics, electrification, and autonomous systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical integration of weapon and mission systems into heavy-duty vehicle platforms
  • Support component and subsystem design, redesign, and packaging for existing and next-generation vehicle programs
  • Collaborate directly with system suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams
  • Perform root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and failure analysis procedures during development and test-site support phases
  • Investigate and resolve mechanical, electrical, and video interface issues
  • Support field and proving-ground validation activities, including issue resolution and engineering updates
  • Develop and review 3D CAD models, layouts, drawings, specifications, and BOMs
  • Use analytical methods to evaluate system performance, durability, safety, and reliability
  • Support production, prototype builds, and integration events
  • Maintain project documentation, technical reports, presentations, and historical engineering records
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
  • Support integration efforts tied to robotics, electrification, autonomous driving, and advanced vehicle systems
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in vehicle systems, component design, or systems integration
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Experience working across mechanical and electrical interfaces
  • Background in heavy vehicle, automotive, defense, aerospace, robotics, or advanced mobility systems
  • Experience with Creo and Windchill
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with suppliers, test teams, and internal stakeholders
Preferred / Standout Qualifications
  • Experience with weapon system integration, military vehicle systems, or mission equipment
  • Knowledge of CAN / BUS protocols and vehicle communication architecture
  • Exposure to video systems, sensor systems, or embedded electrical interfaces
  • Experience supporting test-site, proving ground, or failure analysis investigations
  • Familiarity with electrification, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or mechatronic systems
  • Prior experience supporting supplier issue resolution and subsystem validation
  • Defense industry or DoD vehicle platform experience strongly preferred
