Job description

Job Overview:
LPL Financial is seeking a motivated and technology-driven Platform Engineer new grad to help build, automate, and enhance the enterprise platforms that power our advisor-facing applications, data systems, and internal technology services. This role offers hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, and operational excellence practices that enable secure, scalable, and reliable solutions across the organization. This role will work alongside experienced engineers to support cloud environments, improve developer productivity, and contribute to the resiliency and performance of enterprise platforms. The ideal candidate is experienced, analytical, and eager to learn how cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform services come together to deliver exceptional experiences for both advisors and internal users.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve the scalability, reliability, and performance of cloud and platform services.

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to standardize and automate technology environments.

  • Support cloud operations and platform engineering initiatives focused on availability, resilience, and operational efficiency.

  • Participate in monitoring, observability, and incident response activities to help ensure platform health and reliability.

  • Contribute to security, governance, risk, and compliance initiatives across cloud and infrastructure ecosystems.

  • Assist with CI/CD pipeline enhancements and automation efforts that improve software delivery processes.

  • Document platform architectures, technical workflows, operational procedures, and engineering standards.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  • Completed bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), software engineering or a related field.

  • Available to work from of LPL Financials' primary office locations

  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and container technologies (e.g., Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Basic programming or scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, or similar languages.

  • Understanding of monitoring, observability, and operational best practices for cloud environments.

  • Interest in Generative AI technologies, AI-assisted development tools, or intelligent automation solutions through coursework, projects, or certifications
