Job description

We are an expanding boutique probate and trust litigation firm looking for a versatile, ambitious individual to serve in several roles. Because we are a growing firm, this role is a dynamic position. On any given day, you will blend the duties of a legal assistant, paralegal, law clerk, and office manager. This position is explicitly structured for career progression: as our firm continues to scale, this role may evolve into a full-time Law Firm Office Manager, managing future support staff, firm systems, and business operations.

If you thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, love building organized systems, and want to join a growing practice, this is your opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal Support & Drafting: Assist attorneys with drafting probate court filings, organizing pleadings, indexing discovery, preparing exhibit binders, managing court dockets/calendars, communication with clients, communication with court staff and judicial assistants.
  • Client Intake & Communication: Serve as the warm, professional first point of contact for potential clients, gather intake documentation, and manage client updates.
  • Office & Operational Coordination: Keep firm operations running smoothly, manage vendor relationships, oversee billing/invoicing workflows, and organize digital case files.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a legal, administrative, or office management environment (paralegal certificate, law clerk background, or probate experience is a strong plus).
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and taking initiative without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
  • Proficiency with practice management software, Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, and digital court e-filing systems.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $50,000 – $85,000
  • Clear Career Growth: Direct trajectory into a dedicated Office Manager role with expanding leadership responsibilities.
  • Health Insurance
  • 401k

Employer-paid Group Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability.
