Job Details

Job Location: Unity School of Christianity - Unity Village, MO 64065

Position Type: Full Time

Position Summary: The Specialist, eCommerce & Digital Marketing is responsible for the day-to-day operations, performance, and growth of Unity's online retail presence. This role owns the technical and content side of Unity's Shopify store and Klaviyo email platform — from setting up and maintaining product listings to building email flows that turn browsers into buyers and one-time purchasers into repeat customers.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who is equally comfortable optimizing a product page and writing a promotional email — and who understands how to use data to make both better. The Specialist works closely with the Director of Constituent Engagement and collaborates with the Web, Design, and Communications teams to ensure Unity's eCommerce experience reflects the quality and spirit of its mission.

Who You Are: You are a detail-oriented digital marketer who takes pride in getting things right — from a perfectly formatted product page to a subject line that earns the open. You understand the connection between great content and measurable results, and you know how to use both creativity and data to move people from curious to converted. You're energized by a mission-driven environment and bring the same care to your work that Unity brings to its community.

Essential Job Functions
Shopify Store Management

  • Set up, maintain, and optimize product listings in Shopify, including titles, descriptions, pricing, imagery, tags, and collections.

  • Ensure the online store is accurate, up to date, and merchandised effectively to support sales goals.

  • Monitor store performance and flag issues related to product availability, checkout experience, or site functionality.

  • Oversee site updates, collection page organization, and any technical store issues.

  • Support wholesale and on-site bookstore inventory coordination as needed in partnership with the Product Specialist.

Klaviyo Email Marketing

  • Build, deploy, and manage email campaigns and automated flows in Klaviyo, including welcome series, promotional campaigns, post-purchase sequences, and win-back flows.

  • Develop audience segments in Klaviyo based on purchase behavior, engagement history, and constituent attributes.

  • Write and edit email copy that reflects Unity's brand voice — and drives measurable action.

  • Conduct A/B tests on subject lines, content, and send timing to continuously improve email performance.

  • Maintain list hygiene, manage subscriber segments, and ensure compliance with email best practices and applicable regulations.

Content & Copywriting

  • Write compelling product descriptions that communicate the meaning, quality, and mission alignment of Unity's physical products.

  • Draft promotional email copy, campaign messaging, and on-site content copy as needed.

  • Collaborate with the Design team to develop visuals and creative assets for eCommerce and email campaigns.

  • Ensure all consumer-facing copy is on-brand, spiritually resonant with Unity's voice, and optimized for conversion.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Track and report on eCommerce KPIs including revenue, conversion rate, average order value, traffic sources, and product performance.

  • Monitor Klaviyo performance metrics including open rates, click rates, revenue per email, and flow performance.

  • Prepare regular performance summaries for the Director of Constituent Engagement with insights and recommendations.

  • Use data to identify opportunities for product merchandising improvements, email optimization, and audience growth.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & General

  • Partner with Communications, Products, and Design teams to align eCommerce and email campaigns with organizational marketing calendars.

  • Use project management tools to manage campaign timelines, product launch schedules, and deliverables.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. A compelling combination of professional experience and education will be considered.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience managing a Shopify store, including product setup, collections, and store administration.

  • Experience with an email marketing or eCommerce CRM platform, with demonstrated ability to build flows, segments, and campaigns.

  • Strong copywriting skills — including product descriptions and promotional email copy — with a clear, engaging voice.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to read performance data and translate it into actionable recommendations.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Technology & Platform Skills Required

  • eCommerce — hands-on experience with product management, collections, and store administration.

  • Email marketing platforms — experience building and deploying campaigns and automated flows.

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Google Analytics or equivalent — ability to monitor traffic, conversion, and eCommerce performance.

Preferred

  • Shopify — hands-on experience with product management, collections, and store administration.

  • Klaviyo — direct experience with Klaviyo's flow builder, segmentation tools, and analytics is strongly preferred.

  • Basic familiarity with Shopify apps and integrations (reviews, loyalty, shipping, etc.).

  • Airtable or similar project management / data tracking tools.

  • Experience writing for a values-driven, mission-oriented brand.

Competency Statement(s)

  • Able to provide direction, motivation and model best practices.

  • Able to support a positive team environment in which members participate, respect and cooperate with each other to achieve desired results.

  • Able to demonstrate commitment to the position and accept responsibility for personal actions.

  • Able to promote a safe and inclusive environment of integrity and honesty.

  • Able to create an innovative environment supporting change and improvement.
