About the RoleThe entry-level Mechanical Engineer I role focuses on supporting senior engineers in various projects related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, or environmental systems. The position involves assisting in the analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems and components, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing technical documentation and reports. The role requires clear communication skills, the ability to follow instructions effectively, and a collaborative approach to achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.
You will collect and analyze data related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, structural analysis, or environmental systems to support engineering objectives. Additionally, you will contribute to the resolution of routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity. Preparing technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and support project objectives will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will work effectively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and meet deadlines, while clearly communicating technical concepts and information both verbally and in writing to ensure alignment and collaboration.About You

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Requires bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).

  • Typically, entry-level 0 - 2 years of experience.

  • Basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.

  • Basic application and use of technical principles, standards, theories, and concepts.

  • Ability to help develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope and complexity.

  • Ability to work in a team and follow guidance from senior engineers.

  • Clear verbal and written communication of technical concepts and information.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship or co-op experience in a mechanical engineering or related environment.

  • Familiarity with design, analysis, and test methods related to mechanical systems, propulsion, structures, and/or environmental systems.

  • Familiarity with engineering CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or similar including a familiarity with detail drawing standards and GD&T.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a collaborative and dynamic work environment.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, material sciences, and their impact on mechanical systems.

Compensation:

Pay Range:

$77,234.00 - $106,196.75

Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education,experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
