Job description

Responsibilities
The AutoCAD Operator performs entry-level drafting and design support tasks for geotechnical engineering projects under the direction of senior staff. This role is primarily office-based and involves preparing engineering drawings, site maps, and technical figures using AutoCAD software. The AutoCAD Operator develops technical drafting skills over time and may assist with additional project-related tasks as experience grows. The role maintains a positive customer service attitude and demonstrates an understanding of ECS Core Values.
Responsibilities
  • Assists with drafting and design support for geotechnical and geostructural engineering projects
  • Prepares drawings, figures, and layouts using AutoCAD under supervision
  • Develops site maps, soil boring logs, and soil boring location diagrams
  • Drafts soil profiles and related geotechnical visualizations
  • Assists in preparing engineering drawings (e.g., retaining walls, slopes, foundations, drainage systems)
  • Drafts engineering details and figures for reports and deliverables
  • Supports preparation of reports, drawings, and project documentation
  • Performs other project-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 0 years of related experience
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred
  • Training, education, and/or certification in AutoCad is preferred
    • If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and responsible work ethic
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Emerging or developing proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Ability to interpret technical data with guidance
  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently
