Job description


We're a Full-Service Pet Care company operating several daycare and grooming locations across New York City. We are growing and seek highly motivated and reliable Pet Care Specialists/Dog Walkers to join our awesome team of dog lovers! You will be expected to provide exceptional care to all animals under our supervision, while also ensuring an excellent customer experience.

  • Is comfortable walking 2-4 dogs at a time, over an 8 hour shift

  • Is comfortable engaging with clients

  • Has prior experience in animal care or dog walking

You’ll be relied upon to provide a fun, safe, and clean environment for the dogs and cats in our care. All new hires must successfully complete an online pet care training course and three days of onsite/hands-on training.


Responsibilities:
  • Walking multiple dogs in various weather conditions.
  • Conducting consultations with new clients and completing client information forms.
  • Regularly recording information specifying which dogs were walked, the duration of the walks, and if there were any unusual or abnormal observations.
  • Safely transporting dogs to and from their homes.
  • Picking up and disposing of pet waste.
  • Ensuring that all dogs have fresh water and food as required.
  • Scheduling suitable times to walk dogs.
  • Taking all necessary precautions to ensure that the dogs and those around them are safe.
  • Providing regular updates to clients, which includes sharing photos, videos, and locations.
  • Notifying owners if dogs become sick or injured before, during, or after walks.


Required skills and qualifications:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED certificate

  • At least 18 years old

  • Prior experience as a dog walker, shelter volunteer or personal animal care

  • Familiarity with identifying various dog breeds and behaviors

  • Passion for taking care of animals

  • Teamwork and strong communication skills

  • Physical stamina for cleaning and maintaining all daycare areas

  • Familiarity with various dog harnesses /leashes /collars


Compensation range:

  • Entry level $17.00-18.00 per hour
