Digital Signal Processing Electrical & Computer Engineer
The Opportunity:
What if you could use your electrical and computer engineering skills to develop next-generation electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare capabilities as part of a focused, forward-looking R & D organization? As a Digital Signal Processing ( DSP ) engineer, you understand the power behind complex systems and complex data in the RF and signals domain. That knowledge is key when it comes to designing and implementing digital signal processing for RF sensing, detecting, and responding systems. We're looking for a computer engineer with DSP experience who can use their skills to develop and demonstrate new and novel capabilities to guide the Army toward new technical solutions. Our areas of interest include signal receive and blind demodulation techniques, signal isolation and identification, waveform, complex signal generation, and adaptive techniques.
Our team develops initial implementations of emerging ideas to address Electromagnetic Spectrum Battle Management. That's why we need you, a computer engineer with a solid background in signal processing, to help us implement radio communication capabilities. You'll work in a lab environment to develop functionality for demonstration and delivery to our client. You'll directly impact the future of electromagnetic spectrum and electronic warfare by demonstrating state-of-the-art techniques to guide the client's understanding of what is possible. This is a chance to use your DSP engineering skills and understanding of RF communications while gaining experience with sof tware defined radios ( SDRs ) . You Have:
  • Experience with wireless communications systems and signal processing theory and application
  • Experience with Linux, C, C++, or Rus t
  • Experience with Sof tware Defined Radio ( SDR ) toolkits and standards such as GNUradio and Ettus UHD
  • Experience with Signal Processing Techniques and RF Theory
  • Experience with embedded sof tware development, code optimization, and multi-threading
  • Knowledge of DSP and DSP algorithm development
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Machine Learning techniques, implementation, and signal classification
  • Experience with ARM Microprocessors
  • Experience with RF equipment and testbeds, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Experience with signal, waveform, and technique development tools such as MATLAB or LabView
  • Experience with Git and the Agile Sof tware Development process
  • Experience with FPGAs and VHDL or Verilog
  • Top Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
