DevOps Engineer
Houston, TX
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale digital platform initiative within a leading Oil & Gas organization. This team is responsible for building and maintaining cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms that support engineering analytics, operational reporting, and enterprise data applications.
The environment supports data collection from drilling rigs, manufacturing systems, and SAP platforms, organizing and delivering that data for engineering analysis and reporting through a suite of internally developed web applications. This role will help support the deployment, automation, monitoring, and scalability of the organization's digital application platform.
Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and support Azure cloud infrastructure and services
  • Manage Azure networking, identity/access management, and Azure Container Registry (ACR)
  • Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kubernetes environments supporting enterprise web applications
  • Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
  • Support GitOps workflows and application deployments using ArgoCD and Helm
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD automation pipelines for containerized applications
  • Manage Docker container builds, deployments, and image lifecycle processes
  • Support deployment and operational management of applications within the Sperry Digital platform
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, development, engineering, and data teams to support application delivery and platform reliability
  • Support operational monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Assist with Databricks infrastructure and cloud integration efforts
  • Help scale and modernize cloud-native infrastructure supporting engineering analytics and reporting systems

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and configuration
  • Experience with Azure networking and identity/access management concepts
  • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and monitoring experience in Kubernetes ecosystems
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools
  • Experience with Helm and GitOps methodologies using ArgoCD
  • Experience building and managing Docker containers
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation and deployment pipelines
  • Experience supporting web application deployments in cloud-native environments
  • Strong scripting or automation experience with Bash, PowerShell, or Python

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with SAP-integrated environments or enterprise data platforms
  • Experience with Databricks platform administration or deployments
  • Experience with cloud security, governance, and compliance best practices
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor
