What are we looking for?

The Engineering Technician II (Electrical) is responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance, or clean-up. 

Shift/Schedule: [Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm]

  • Prepare and set up test samples and test equipment.
  • Operate equipment and perform testing in accordance with approved test plan.
  • Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.
  • Perform calculation and analysis of test data.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. 
  • May make recommendations regarding the interpretation and applicability for specific test standards. 
  • May communicate with clients regarding general project inquiries, updates, etc.
  • May assist with test plan creation and/or method development.
  • May adapt procedures and equipment to meet department needs.
  • May prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures.
  • Assist with training entry level technicians.
  • May draft test reports. 
  • Perform other work as required.
     

The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties. 

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1.5+ years of experience
  • Model Intertek's 10X Energies at all times within the workplace, practicing business the right way
  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work 
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools
  • Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management 
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs. 
  • Ability to travel, up to 15%
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record 

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2 year technical degree in Electronic Engineering Technology.
  • 2 years of experience in electrical testing environment
  • Intermediate  level of electrical network analysis
