• Collaborate with Engineers to determine new product line placement and capacity • Create/maintain material standards form, including routings and production information. • Create and/or maintain plant layout, including area block diagram. • Perform capacity studies as needed based on customer or sales information. • Create/maintain detailed elemental time studies based on process concept or actual studies, including work combination table or equivalent and necessary changeover steps. • Utilize time studies and work combination tables to implement manning improvements. • Maintain work cell tracking database. • Create/maintain Line Capacity forms that feature product and line information detailing weekly volumes and speeds. • Countermeasure sheet creation and routing for trial/engineering change activity. • Create Process Concept based on our sister company quotation model and update with ongoing design changes. • Work with Engineers on new model launch for cell layout to include WIP, finished goods and location for support items in the work cell. • Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocation of workstations and equipment, etc. • Ergonomic advocate, working closely with safety, engineering and manufacturing. Need hands on experience with equipment and experience with 8D and 5Y methodologies. They will need to be able to identify and solve problems. They will have minimal direction and will be expected to 'own' their projects and run with it. This is a very hands on position for an engineer.
