The Role
As a Senior Software Developer (Data Engineering) you'll play a critical role in building and maintaining the data solutions that power regulatory reporting across U.S. equity and options markets.
You'll thrive in this position if you're analytical, solutions-oriented, and collaborative - someone who takes ownership of complex technical problems and delivers reliable, scalable outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java and Scala-based backend applications that support large-scale regulatory reporting workflows.

  • Analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into reliable, scalable software solutions.

  • Build, enhance, and support data processing and ETL workflows that ingest, transform, and deliver large volumes of trading and market data.

  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement durable, long-term fixes across distributed data platforms.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions using cloud and big data technologies

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2+ years of software development experience with strong programming skills in Scala or/and Java.

  • Experience developing backend services, data-intensive applications, or ETL/data processing solutions.

  • Experience working in SQL and Linux/Unix environments, including scripting and troubleshooting.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguous requirements and collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large-scale data processing technologies and cloud platforms, particularly AWS.

  • Experience with Apache Spark, Amazon EMR, Hadoop, or other big data technologies.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools that enhance engineering productivity.

  • Background in financial markets, regulatory reporting, or trading systems environments.
