Job description

We are seeking motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to join a Data Center Operations team as Data Center Operations Support Technicians. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in a mission-critical data center environment while supporting daily operations through hands-on work, inventory management, facility inspections, material handling, and general operational support.

This role is primarily focused on task execution and operational support. Team members will work alongside experienced technicians, following established procedures and safety guidelines to help maintain an organized, efficient, and safe facility.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, ability to follow directions, and commitment to safety.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities may vary daily based on operational needs and can include:

Inventory & Material Handling

  • Receive, unbox, and stage incoming equipment deliveries
  • Organize inventory, storage areas, and equipment staging locations
  • Move materials and equipment to designated locations throughout the facility
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory audits
  • Restock supplies, PPE, tools, and operational materials
  • Prepare equipment and materials for recycling or disposal

Facility Operations & Inspections

  • Perform facility walkthroughs and visual inspections using established checklists
  • Identify and report safety concerns, leaks, damage, or environmental abnormalities
  • Record equipment readings and document observations for review
  • Verify signage, labels, and safety equipment are properly maintained
  • Participate in safety walks and hazard identification activities

General Labor & Project Support

  • Assist with equipment rack preparation and staging activities
  • Set up work zones, safety barriers, cones, and signage
  • Stage tools and materials for technician-led projects
  • Assemble shelving, storage systems, and workspace equipment
  • Support site organization and operational improvement efforts

Housekeeping & Site Organization

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of operational spaces
  • Remove trash and recycling from designated areas
  • Organize loading docks, storage rooms, and utility spaces
  • Support common area upkeep and facility organization initiatives

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Update physical status boards and facility postings
  • Organize documentation, binders, and procedural materials
  • Assist with posting updated procedures, maps, and safety notices
  • Support vendor or contractor activities when assigned and trained

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and checklists
  • Strong attendance record and demonstrated reliability
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Comfortable receiving direction from supervisors and senior technicians
  • Strong communication and problem-escalation skills
  • Basic organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, construction, logistics, facilities, operations, inventory, or general labor environments
  • Experience working in fast-paced team settings
  • Familiarity with workplace safety practices and procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8-12 hours per shift)
  • Ability to perform light to moderate manual labor throughout the workday
  • Frequent use of hands for operational and material-handling tasks
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport materials as required by operational needs
  • Ability to work in indoor data center and operational environments
