Job description

Job Title: Hardware Packer / Loader
Job Description

This role supports a fast-paced production environment by accurately picking, packing, identifying, and loading hardware boxes to meet daily work orders and production needs in Shawnee, KS. You will maintain organized stock areas, ensure inventory accuracy, and help keep materials flowing smoothly to support production schedules on either a day or night shift.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and load hardware boxes according to daily work orders and production schedules.
  • Ensure correct quantities of hardware boxes are completed to meet daily and weekly production requirements.
  • Properly identify and label boxes, pallets, parts, and materials to maintain traceability and accuracy.
  • Maintain full bins in hardware pick stations so production has continuous access to required materials.
  • Keep the stock area organized, stocked, and ready for production needs at all times.
  • Accurately identify parts and locate the appropriate bins, barrels, or storage areas based on labels and documentation.
  • Plan ahead to ensure materials are brought to the department in a timely manner to avoid delays.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized throughout the shift by following housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Learn product types, parts, and department processes to improve speed and accuracy over time.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from leadership and team leads to complete assigned tasks.
  • Compare numbers, labels, and part information against required standards and documentation to ensure correctness.
  • Accurately enter data into a computer system to record inventory movements, counts, and order status.
  • Use RF scanners or similar tools to support order picking, inventory tracking, and material handling.
  • Support other entry-level functions within the department as needed for job rotation and team coverage.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership to support overall production and warehouse operations.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with packing, packaging, picking, inventory, and material handling in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Ability to perform picking, packing, loading, stocking, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to quickly identify parts, quantities, and locations using labels, part numbers, and documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure correct part numbers, quantities, labels, work orders, and data entry.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from leadership and team members.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills for recording inventory and order information.
  • Ability to use RF scanners or similar technology for order picking and inventory tracking.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn additional department responsibilities as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in both hot and cold environments as required by the facility.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling parts and packaging.

  • Ability to frequently stoop, bend, walk, carry, and lift materials.

Work Environment

The work environment is fast-paced and focused on keeping materials flowing to support production. You will work on your feet for most of the shift, moving between stock areas, pick stations, and work cells. The facility includes both hot and cold areas, and you may move between different temperature zones during the day. You will use equipment such as RF scanners, computers for data entry, and standard material handling tools while working around pallets, bins, barrels, and racking. The work area emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with expectations that you maintain a tidy and orderly space throughout the shift. Dress typically aligns with a production and warehouse setting, with practical, comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear suitable for standing, walking, lifting, and working around materials and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shawnee, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
