The Role Itself

USG is a national wholesale/brokerage for hard to place commercial insurance coverages. We are seeking an individual to assist with surplus lines premium tax filings on a full-time basis (40 hours per week) in our Tampa, FL office location.

Responsibilities include:

Entry-level surplus lines filings involve supporting compliance teams with data entry, report generation, research, and very basic tax filings.

  • Timely and accurate completion of state regulatory surplus lines tax filings.
  • Data entry and management of client-provided information into proprietary software and state-based filing systems (e.g., SLIP or OPTins).
  • Conducting compliance and quality reviews on documents and state procedures.
  • Running reports and reconciling filings with internal platforms and state transaction reports.
  • Assisting with audits by verifying transactions and related documentation.
  • Communicating with internal teams (underwriters, brokers) and state insurance departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
