Job description

Position Overview:

Our Client is seeking four motivated Engineering Associates to support the design, planning, and management of electric distribution systems. As an entry-level distribution engineering role, the Engineering Associate will work closely with experienced engineers to ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of electric power to customers. This role offers hands-on fieldwork, data analysis, customer interaction, and exposure to utility-grade engineering tools and systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Distribution System Design:
    Assist in creating and optimizing distribution system layouts under the supervision of senior engineers.
    Prepare detailed design drawings and technical documentation for projects.

  • Customer Interaction & Field Work:
    Meet with customers in the field to determine service needs and gather data for engineering decisions.

  • Data Collection & Analysis:
    Analyze load data, system performance metrics, and asset conditions to support design and planning.

  • Equipment Selection:
    Assist in selecting and specifying equipment such as transformers, switches, circuit breakers, and protection devices based on load requirements.

  • Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure design work complies with safety codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards. Assist in regulatory approvals as needed.

  • Project Support:
    Provide assistance in budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating engineering projects.

  • Emergency Response:
    Support outage restoration efforts, including availability for emergencies during nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Software Proficiency:
    Learn and apply industry-standard design and simulation software used in electrical distribution planning.

  • Documentation:
    Maintain and update equipment records and infrastructure drawings to reflect changes and improvements.
