Job description

Everforth ECS is seeking an entry level MetOcean Data Analyst I to work onsite at Stennis Space Center, MS.
This is an entry level position and will be supporting The National Data Buoy Center, (NDBC) is a part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS).
NDBC designs, develops, operates, and maintains a network of global data collecting buoys and coastal stations.
NDBC is located in southern Mississippi at the John C. Stennis Space Center, a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
This role is based primarily onsite, with a portion of the time spent working remotely.
  • Background or experience in analyzing meteorological and oceanographic observations (e.g. winds, atmospheric pressure, temperatures) in the marine environment and identifying observational errors of all types.
  • Familiarity of operating characteristics of automated monitoring systems and the ability to recognize system performance anomalies.
  • Some experience with scientific programming and analysis tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products as well as Google Suite applications.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A BS degree in Meteorology, Oceanography, or Physical Earth Sciences.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft clear, professional, and well-structured materials.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage varied workloads efficiently.
