Job description

Leidos is seeking a Software Tester to work with the CEMA (Cyber and Electromagnetic Activities) department.

All products need proper testing, there is no question. Our products are responsible for training the warfighter to recognize, identify and respond to real world CEMA attacks on their systems that might not otherwise be seen until they're on the battlefield. Our team has an additional product responsible for alerting our varied array of customers of potential cyber and EW attacks by creative adversaries highly skilled at attacking. With that problem set in mind, our products need to be tested by equally creative minds that enjoy digging, automating, and generally learning all they can do to do those exact things the adversaries would.

This position is entry level, making an extensive skill set not required for consideration. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn and grow into this position. Our CEMA team is comprised of both red and blue: hackers, programmers, mathematicians, even physicists, so knowledge is easily gleaned in our team for those willing to ask. Problem solving, troubleshooting, and a desire to break things for good reasons will be our focus for consideration.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Performing test planning, monitoring, and execution.
  • Learning, troubleshooting, and asking lots of questions.
  • Developing and executing software test cases in a Linux/Windows environment with significant focus on repeatability.
  • Reviewing and verifying system level and software level requirements while working with team members to better understand them.
  • Discovering and documenting technical defects so team members can easily reproduce the issue.
Basic Qualifications:
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Top Secret/SSBI Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Final Top-Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Cyber Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Technical Degree.
  • Experience in C++, Python, JavaScript, Java or C#.
  • A proven ability to program (examples proved in GitHub, prints out, or code by hand in the interview).
  • Navigational knowledge of Linux and Windows.
  • Problem solving skills (imagine a hundred exclamation points behind this qualification).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or working knowledge of writing automated and/or unit tests.
  • Experience or working knowledge of Qt, Python.
  • Experience or working knowledge in Jenkins and Groovy scripting.
  • Bash/PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Jira - issue tracking and agile project management, or similar tool.
