Job description

Job Summary:
GIGATEC Engineering is seeking an Application Software Engineer to enhance collaboration tools for mission teams. The role involves designing and developing integrations and automations for Atlassian products within a Linux environment.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Help design, develop, and sustain tools and services that power Atlassian-based collaboration across mission teams.
โ€ข This role focuses on building integrations, plugins, scripts, and automation that enhance Jira, Confluence, and related services within a Linux environment.
โ€ข You will work closely with developers, system administrators, project managers, and mission customers to streamline workflows, improve user experience, and keep productivity engines humming.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
โ€ข Experience writing Bash/Python/PHP scripts to automate administrative tasks and workflows
โ€ข Extensive software development experience with Java
โ€ข Experience using an integrated development environment such as the Atlassian plugin software developer kit (SDK) or Visual Studio Code (VS Code)
โ€ข Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as Ansible
โ€ข Experience creating documentation of configurations, procedures, and system changes
โ€ข Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI
โ€ข Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
โ€ข Experience deploying containerized services under Kubernetes orchestration
โ€ข Experience with Git for source code management, branching strategies, and team collaboration
Preferred:
โ€ข Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
โ€ข Experience with sustaining mission applications deployed in a Linux environment
โ€ข Experience with interacting/training external customers
