Build Your Foundation. Grow Your Career.
The Law Offices of Scott M. Clark, P.C. is a multi-state firm serving owners, managers, investors, and associations across three sectors Residential, Commercial, and Associations. Our teams operate across Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico, delivering results in Litigation, Arbitration & Mediation; Rescissions, Cancellations & Modifications; Business Transactions & Negotiations; Evictions, Foreclosures & Discharges; and Advisory & Operational Consulting.
The Line Attorney role is our entry-level, court-facing coverage and client-advisory position. You will own initial hearings, continuances, resets, short trials, and other docket matters - and you'll answer client advisory questions that shape pre-litigation strategy and day-to-day operations. It's hands-on, fast-paced, and skill-building - designed to prepare you for Staff Attorney promotion on the strength of your performance.
Why this is different: Daily courtroom reps + real-time client advisement = accelerated growth. You'll learn how the law actually runs in practice - and you'll see results you can measure month over month.
What You'll Do
  • Appear in court (in person and virtual) for initial hearings, continuances, resets, bench trials/short trials, and related proceedings - primarily in evictions, foreclosures, and discharges.
  • Prepare for hearings: review case files, verify ledgers and notices, craft concise argument plans, coordinate with clients and staff for exhibits and witnesses.
  • Advise clients (with attorney oversight as needed): respond to operational and compliance questions across Residential, Commercial, and Association portfolios; issue-spot and escalate when appropriate.
  • Draft & Refine: succinct motions, proposed orders, advisories, settlement proposals, and client communications.
  • Move cases: manage resets, stipulations, status updates, and next actions so files don't stall.
  • Collaborate with supervising and staff attorneys to calibrate strategy, capture lessons learned, and improve templates and checklists.
  • Represent the Firm with a professional, solutions-oriented demeanor in court, with opposing counsel, and with clients.

What You'll Learn (Fast)
  • The rhythm of Nevada dockets (including summary and formal eviction practice), how to prep efficiently, and how to advocate effectively with limited time.
  • How to distill messy facts into tight oral argument and clear, client-ready counsel.
  • Where Advisory & Operational guidance prevents disputes - and when litigation is the right call.
  • The performance habits that drive advancement (reliability, precision, communication, judgement).

Success Looks Like (90 / 180 Days)
90 Days:
  • Consistent, on-time coverage; high file-readiness before hearings; clear post-hearing notes and next-steps.
  • Client advisory responses that are accurate, concise, and practical - with proper escalation on complex issues.

180 Days:
  • Strong courtroom presence; win rate and resolution efficiency trending up; fewer supervisor revisions.
  • Recognized by clients and peers for reliability and judgement, ready for more complex matters.
  • On-track for merit-based progression toward Staff Attorney.

Qualifications
Required
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Nevada Bar admission in good standing (or actively pursuing admission).
  • Bar-pending candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent oral advocacy, concise writing, and professional client communication.
  • Strong organization under deadline; ability to manage a high-volume, court-driven calendar.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel; comfort learning case/court systems.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for courthouse appearances.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Preferred
  • Moot Court / Trial Advocacy, clinic, or externship experience.
  • Exposure to landlord-tenant, creditors' rights, real estate, bankruptcy-adjacent, or civil litigation.
  • Experience advising operational stakeholders (e.g., property managers, asset managers, HOA boards).
  • Process mindset - improving checklists, templates, or workflows.

Compensation, Benefits & Work Schedule
  • Salary: $78,000 starting
  • Bonuses: Progressive, uncapped monthly bonus (performance assessed monthly)
  • Benefits:
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous PTO: vacation, sick, personal, and holidays
  • Retirement: Profit sharing + defined benefit plan after 2 years
  • Cell phone & mileage reimbursement
  • Structured onboarding & mentorship for new attorneys
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, on-site in Las Vegas; court appearance times may vary
  • Dress Code: Business professional

Growth Path
Line Attorney → Staff Attorney (next step) based on merit and contribution - with continued opportunities for advancement as you expand your docket, advisory impact, and client trust. Performance and bonuses are assessed monthly, giving you clear, frequent feedback loops.
Our Hiring Process

  • Practical exercise (brief writing or argument outline).
  • Interviews with a supervising attorney and team lead (courtroom and advisory focus).
  • Offer with start date aligned to bar timing and court calendar needs.
