Job description

This position is an entry level role in the corporate accounting function of a growing, employee-owned (ESOP) construction company. The Corporate Staff Accountant will work closely with the Corporate Accounting Manager on core accounting responsibilities and day-to-day accounting operations.

The ideal candidate is a strong team player with solid communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. We are looking for someone who fits well within a collaborative culture and is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a highperforming accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

MonthlyAccounting

  • Assistwith monthly close activities, including preparation of balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

  • Support general ledger maintenance and basic journal entry preparation.

  • Help ensureaccurateandtimelymonth-end reporting.

  • Assistwith payment processing, including vendor payments, coding transactions accurately, and other transactional accounting functions as needed.

  • Helpmaintainorganized accounting records and documentation.

Payment Processing & Transactional Support

  • Assistwith payment processing, including vendor payments.

  • Supportaccounts payable and other transactional accounting functions as needed.

  • Helpcode transactions accurately whilemaintainingthe proper documentation consistent with internal SOP.

Special Projects& Operational Support

  • Contribute to specialprojectsasassigned, including process improvements, system enhancements, and integration of new oracquiredentities.

  • Partner with cross functional teams that would be assigned for various ad hoc projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accountingora relatedfield preferred.

  • Accounting experience preferred; open to candidates with varying levels ofexperience.

  • Basic understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations.

  • Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel preferred.

  • Construction or corporate accounting experienceis a plusbut notrequired.
