Position Summary

DynaTen is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Construction team. This is an entry-level position on the project management career path at DynaTen. The position supports the Project Manager with planning, coordinating, and execution of HVAC and plumbing construction projects, so our delivery meets our high-quality standards and our clients' expectations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager to ensure projects meet design specifications, budget, and schedule requirements
  • Review project plans and specifications, build project schedules, make recommendations of potential cost-saving measures, and identify project areas of improvement proactively
  • Collaborate and communicate with General Contractors, Owners, Vendors and Subcontractors to coordinate project schedules, RFIs, and assist in generating change orders
  • Maintain accurate and updated document control measure for project RFIs, submittals, contract drawings, specifications and shop drawings
  • Assist procurement and material tracking based on project schedules
  • Assist with issuance of purchase orders, including receipt, tracking and inventory of job stie materials and tools
  • Review vendor and subcontractor submittals for general compliance with project plans and specifications
  • Coordinate with field Superintendents to support DynaTen manpower used efficiently based on project schedules
  • Support Foreman and Superintendents with layout issues, missing information and coordination conflicts
  • Attend and participate in coordination, pre-construction and post-construction meetings
  • Potentially support multiple projects and Project Managers with varying scope requirements simultaneously
  • Maintain project documentation and logs
  • Assist in preparing billing backup and closeout documents
  • Visit job sites and support field operations to gain understanding of job site requirements
  • Preform site inspection, track progress and assist resolving issues
  • Exposed to project financials and better support the project and Project Manager
  • Assist with safety monitoring, ensuring proper safety policies and procedures are followed in coordination with company safety standards
  • Support scheduling, QC, and closeout tasks
  • Maintain and build customer relationships, including attending networking and marketing events
  • Attend and participate in DynaTen training and leadership programs
  • Support Project Manager through coordination and communication
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Willingness to work in the field and support jobsite activities
  • Represent DynaTen in a professional and positive manner
  • Demonstrate accountability, organization, and follow-through on all assigned responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • 0-2+ years of relevant experience with commercial self-perform mechanical and/or plumbing subcontractor
  • Understanding of construction processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, inclusive of clear writing, documentation and tracking actionable items
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals and shop drawings
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Professional, positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and a team player
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to work in the field
  • Strong sense of accountability and willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to see problems and offer solutions
  • Pass a background check, drug screening, and MVR check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Sciences, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field strongly preferred
  • Internship or field experience with HVAC, Plumbing or Piping strongly preferred
  • Experience with BIM/VDC preferred

Working Conditions

Must have the ability to perform the duties above in a non-controlled environment. This will include climbing ladders, working on ladders and elevated surfaces, maintain in good working conditions, tools, materials, and equipment required to your work area. Working exposed to the elements during (when required) at all times of the year. All employees are required to always wear PPE and always follow Safety procedures.
