We're looking for a motivated Entry-Level Field Engineer who is ready to learn, grow, and build a rewarding career in heavy civil construction. Whether you're entering the workforce, transitioning from a trade or equipment background, or bringing some construction experience to the table, this role offers hands-on exposure to field operations, project execution, and leadership development.
Working alongside experienced Superintendents, Project Managers, and field crews, you'll gain the knowledge and experience needed to build a successful career in heavy civil construction.

What You'll Do
As an Entry-Level Field Engineer, you'll work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and field teams to support the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist field leadership with daily project planning and coordination.
- Learn and develop an understanding of heavy civil construction means and methods.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and quantity tracking throughout project execution.
- Support project budgeting efforts, including labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material cost tracking.
- Assist with production tracking, forecasting, and daily reporting.
- Support project scheduling efforts and monitor production rates.
- Track subcontractor quantities and assist with weekly cost reporting and monthly progress billings.
- Coordinate with field personnel to ensure accurate project documentation and reporting.
- Assist with project controls, field measurements, and quantity verification.
- Develop proficiency with industry-leading construction software and technology.
- Participate in both office and field activities to gain a well-rounded understanding of construction operations.
- Support safe work practices and quality control initiatives across the project.

This role provides a strong foundation for advancement into Field Engineering, Superintendent, Operations Management, and other leadership positions within ESCO.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or the ability to quickly learn new software platforms.
- Ability to access all areas of active construction sites in varying climates and environments.
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship, co-op, military, trade, construction, surveying, heavy equipment, or field operations experience.
- Up to two years of construction, engineering, field operations, or project support experience.
- Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, quantity calculations, or GPS technology.
- Previous heavy civil construction experience is a plus but not required.
No Experience? No Problem.
