Job description

This is a mid-level, client-facing SEO role focused primarily on owning SEO strategy and results for a portfolio of RYTECH clients, with a growing secondary focus on AI search/GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).

About RYTECH, LLC

RYTECH is a full service digital marketing agency that specializes in paid and organic search, web design, email, and social media marketing. We remain committed to building customized solutions for our clients. From small businesses to international companies, we’ll develop the right digital strategy to best suit the needs of our clients.

DescriptionJob Overview

We're seeking a strategic, client-facing search professional to own organic search and AI visibility for a portfolio of RYTECH accounts. This is an SEO-forward role at its core — you'll drive the strategy, execution, and reporting that grow our clients' organic presence — with a secondary focus on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), our fast-growing service line built to make brands the answer AI engines recommend.

Just as important as the technical work is how you show up for clients. This person owns their accounts: leading meetings, communicating proactively over email and calls, translating results into business impact, and bringing strategy to the table rather than waiting for direction. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, relationship-builder, and curious early adopter — someone who stays ahead of how AI and search are evolving and can turn that knowledge into results clients can see.

You'll collaborate across our SEO, content, paid, and web teams, but you won't get lost in heads-down work. Your job is to own the outcome and the relationship.

No entry-level applicants accepted

Experience & Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in SEO (agency experience preferred); exposure to GEO/AI search a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to own client relationships and communicate strategy confidently in meetings and writing
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, LLMs, and how generative engines are reshaping search — and a track record of self-directed learning to stay current
  • Strong analytical skills with GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, Ahrefs, and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with technical SEO, on-page and off-page optimization, and local SEO
  • Excellent written communication; comfortable producing and reviewing content and client-facing deliverables
  • Well-organized and able to balance multiple client timelines using project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Slack)
  • Baseline familiarity with paid search/social is a plus, given cross-functional collaboration with the Paid team
  • Writing samples required (SEO/content, client-facing strategy, or long-form work such as blogs or whitepapers)
Key Responsibilities

SEO & Organic Search Strategy (Primary Focus)

  • Own organic search strategy and day-to-day execution for a portfolio of client accounts
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and content-gap analysis to build SEO-driven content strategies
  • Identify and address technical SEO issues, including site structure, page speed, metadata, and schema markup
  • Manage on-page and off-page SEO, including title tags, descriptions, internal linking, and link-building initiatives
  • Oversee local SEO efforts, including Google Business Profile management
  • Support content development — service pages, location pages, blogs, and other assets aligned to search intent

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) & AI Visibility

  • Own and help evolve RYTECH's GEO deliverables as a growing service line — not just reporting on AI mentions, but actively working to earn them
  • Run GEO audits and baselines: how often AI engines cite a brand, where it stands against competitors, and which sources the AI trusts
  • Lead AI visibility optimization — restructuring site content, data, and technical foundations (schema, llms.txt, citability) so AI engines can read, trust, and cite the brand
  • Drive off-site influence and outreach across the third-party sites, reviews, directories, and conversations AI pulls its answers from
  • Deliver monthly GEO tracking and optimization across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini
  • Own, test, and stay current on developments in AI, LLMs, and GEO best practices; contribute to RYTECH's internal AI Committee to keep the agency ahead of how these engines evolve

Client Success & Account Ownership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong, proactive relationships over meetings, email, and calls
  • Lead as‑needed client meetings, providing agendas in advance to keep internal and external stakeholders accountable
  • Own account strategy proactively — surface recommendations, anticipate needs, and guide clients rather than simply executing tasks
  • Ensure clients clearly understand the ROI and value RYTECH delivers against their business goals
  • Perform quality control on client deliverables and reporting before they reach the client
  • Learn each client's industry vertical well enough to suggest personalized, strategic solutions
  • Identify and coordinate service‑line expansion and upsell opportunities in partnership with the business development team

Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead regular performance reporting across SEO and GEO, highlighting key metrics, optimizations, and strategic insights
  • Conduct deep dives in Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, Looker Studio, and Ahrefs to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities
  • Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for both clients and internal teams
  • Fully Remote (residency in Illinois or Wisconsin required; in-person team meetings twice per quarter in Milwaukee or Chicago)
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Commission on upsells/cross-sells
  • Unlimited PTO with flexible scheduling
  • 401K with company match
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • Long-term disability and life insurance
  • Company computer and technology resources
  • Monetary awards & recognition programs
  • Annual company retreat
