Job description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its Detroit 110 operations based in Novi, MI. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the following: 

  • Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
  • Prepare RFI’s and submittals.
  • Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders.
  • Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.
  • Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation.
  • Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.

This position is safety sensitive. 

Basic Requirements

  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience supporting or managing construction projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Possess a clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned.
  • Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrentl.y 
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline.
  • Experience with interior scopes of construction preferred.
