Overview

Are you an aspiring engineer ready to launch your career in construction management?

MBP is looking for an entry-level Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to build a strong foundation in construction management, project controls, and on-site client representation across a variety of project sectors.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

As an entry-level Engineer, you will support project teams by serving as an on-site representative of the client, contributing to project documentation, and applying engineering principles to real-world construction challenges. You will work closely with experienced professionals who will guide your development as you gain exposure to diverse project types and service areas.

Responsibilities include:

    Prepare project documentation, cost estimates, schedules, and plan reviews
  • Research and organize project records to support ongoing assignments
  • Review project records, schedules, and as-built construction to evaluate change orders and requests for extension of time
  • Independently apply engineering techniques and analyze problems and methods
  • Coordinate the quality and timeliness of deliverables
  • Participate in company training programs, company activities, and administrative duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Experience:

  • Some construction work experience preferred
  • Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, K-12 school, water/wastewater, higher education, laboratory facilities, transportation, ports, or marina projects

Education/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • FE/EIT preferred
  • Engineering principles of construction management and project controls
  • One or more of the following services: critical path method scheduling, cost estimating, project budgeting, delay analysis, constructibility and design review, inspections, quantity take-offs

Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, CADD, and graphics applications
  • Strong writing capabilities
  • Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports
  • Maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work
  • Communicate effectively with others and maintain favorable public relations
  • Work independently on assigned tasks
  • Stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Industry certifications specific to duties assigned, or ability to obtain and maintain

Guidance/Responsibility:

  • Work is closely supervised with regular oversight and direction from senior team members

Supervisory:

  • May supervise assistants in technical and administrative roles

The base salary range for this position is $73,300.00 to $87,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, qualifications, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
